February 2016 Reads + Monthly Recap

Hello! I'm back. Miss me?

As expected, February was INSANE. I am so behind on a lot of things and right now I am doing my best to catch up especially on sleep ;) I have so many reviews to write, blog posts to make, and my TBR is giving me the stink-eye.

Anyway, I read a total of 11 books this past month which isn't bad considering the situation although I am currently 1 book behind schedule on my Goodreads Reading Challenge. The last week of February was super hectic I wasn't able to sneak in any kind of reading. Not even the one-chapter-a-day kind. I had gone about 9 days straight without picking up a book and I missed reading terribly so now I am dedicating 30% of my time on my TBR (50% is nap time -- I NEED IT).

February 2015 Reads + Monthly Recap

I'm still a little beat from last night's party so I'm gonna make this quick. I read 10 books and 2 novellas this February. Not bad, considering I had midterms. And it's been a really long time since I last read a series consecutively, from beginning to end. I'm pretty proud of myself for being able to do that this month.

February Reads + Monthly Recap

Hey everyone! Sorry for my delayed February wrap-up post. I might have been deeply asleep for the whole day yesterday since I didn't sleep on Saturday. And because I wasn't able to finish making my February book haul two days ago before my friend told me that we had to go, I'm going to move it this Saturday, but it will be a scheduled post since I also have another event to attend that day and I'm pretty sure I won't be able to finish it - again - if I don't make it in advance.

I was hoping I'd have a lot of reading time this February to catch up on my challenges but.. yeah. Didn't happen. I'm still 4 books behind my Goodreads reading challenge and even though I did read a lot of books in one sitting, there are still a couple of days gap between them because of school obligations. But anyway, I'm still happy with the number of books I read this February.

February Reads + Monthly Recap

February has been my busiest month yet. So many things I had to do! First week was dedicated to midterm exams and you know how it gets. You'd think that I would be free for at least a few days after, but no. There was the preparation for our club's activity which took a lot of time for meetings and calls and weekend tasks. One time I got home at around 10PM, I was so tired I've gone straight to my room and was unconscious as soon as I hit my bed. I didn't even bother eating dinner. I woke up the next day at 7:45AM - 35 minutes left before my first class - still in my previous day's clothes (lifting a finger seems like a very difficult job then). And the fact that well, it's endterm which means projects, projects, projects. I remember saying to make the most out of 28 days reading and being productive. In a way, I was. I made 19 blog posts this Feb despite my busy sched! That's definitely an improvement for me (supposedly, there was still more I have to post but I ran out of time). I got through with exams sane, and then were able to produce a very successful event. Unfortunately, I wasn't that lucky to have read a lot of books. I only read 6 - I'm satisfied, considering. But I wish I could have read more. Anyway, that is my bookish goal this March! To read as many books as I can, I missed reading so badly!

This month I read:

I watched Warm Bodies with my sister and I was planning to post a "From Page to Film" for it but something came up so I have to move it to a different date. Maybe this March. And that's that. I really had a great time last month, no matter how tiring it was and how frustrating it got sometimes :)

And by fun, I meant:

No one is even looking at the camera. Actually, there's a lot of cameras flashing at once, so we really don't know where to look but I'm looking down! Goodness, I absolutely have no idea what I found so fascinating on the floor.

1) Lena says she is looking forward to the cure because it is a "chance to be reborn: newer, fresher, better". Although we don't have "the cure" can you relate to Lena?
-In a way, I understand Lena's eagerness for the cure especially with the kind of past she had and the pain it brought her in the present. I think alot of people can relate to it although I can't begin to imagine myself without love no matter how painful it is or how broken it made me. “You can't be happy unless you're unhappy sometimes.” Same as with pain, I guess. You can't ever be out of pain if you haven't experienced it in the first place. It's not always perfect in love.

February! Another month. Only 28 days for reading but must make it count, right? Hmm. Valentine's Day... what else? Oh. Only 11 more months before 2014. Way eager, huh? Yeah, you'd say that, too. Especially if the last book you read ends in a huge cliffhanger and you'd have to agonize for a year.
