Six-time Grammy Award-winning musician Kyle Hamilton has it all—money, fame, talent, good looks, and a job he loves. Four years and a broken heart later, Kyle realizes that sex isn’t everything, and he suddenly can’t stop thinking about the girl that got away. Virgin Val Jensen got under his skin like no one else ever has. He wasn’t ready for her then, but things are different now. She’s searching for answers to her past. They’re hunting her to save their future.

At least, this is what Juneau has been told her entire life.

When Juneau returns from a hunting trip to discover that everyone in her clan has vanished, she sets off to find them. Leaving the boundaries of their land for the very first time, she learns something horrifying: There never was a war. Cities were never destroyed. The world is intact. Everything was a lie.

Review: Justice by Jade Varden

Justice (Deck of Lies #1)
by Jade Varden

A House of Cards...

When you build an entire life on a foundation of lies, it only takes one truth for the whole thing to come crashing down. I never invited the truth in. I never went searching for it. I never had any reason to suspect that the two people I loved most were dishonest with me every second of every day.

I made one bad decision, and in a single day my entire world changed. If I'm ever going to discover the truth about myself and my parents, I have to trace all the lies back to their source. I have to try to find the truth that they're hiding.

The more I discover about myself, and my past, the more I realize that lies really are better than the truth. But now that I know the lies are all around me, I can't stop until I've discovered them all. I'll pull each lie away, one by one, and examine it to see what's underneath…until this house of cards crumbles into dust at my feet.

I just hope I can survive the crash.

QUICK NOTICE!

Oh, this is nothing earth-shattering if that's what you're expecting. I just feel like posting something but don't have time for a review.

First off, I GOT MY LAPTOP BACK! I miss this baby so much. I am never comfortable making reviews - or any blog posts for that matter - using any other computer.

Second. To all of you lovely people who left comments on my blog during the weekend, you guys rock! Will visit your blogs back as soon as I have the time (meaning tomorrow).

I literally just just got on the internet not an hour ago since Saturday afternoon. I choose not to during Sundays so I can read without interruptions but this Sunday was different. I spent the whole day cleaning my room which now feels so heavenly I couldn't keep the smile off my face for a job very well done. The dreaded day has now come and gone, my room is finally spick-and-span. Oi! That rhymes. And also this morning, I couldn't bring myself to put down the book I am currently reading:

...mainly the reason why I couldn't be bothered to write a review of another book. I was even tempted not to go online at all. This book is good stuff. You guys should start reading this series.

Aaaaand.. lastly, I have a meeting in, like, 10 minutes. So I gotta go. Now.

Book Cover Battle: Old vs New - Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Let's talk about the old cover of the first book, Obsidian, first.
For it's first edition it looks like this:
Daemon looks hot. Katy looks hot. If you ask me, once you see this cover and then start reading the book, there's no denying they are the perfect Daemon and Katy. You won't be able to picture them looking like another person's face. What I didn't like about this cover is that it feels bare. And what's up with the title's design?

Things That Made Me Smile/Laugh Today

Hey! So I wanted to make a blog post but I have no idea what. I was working on finishing a couple of reviews but I don't feel like doing that now so I thought I'd insert some randomness here. I kind of noticed a lot of things made me happy today and I want to spread it to anyone who might come across this post. It's nothing big; little things that scored a spontaneous laugh or smile on my face which made it all the more special in my opinion.

*whispers* I once overheard the adults talk about how my smile is expensive (since I was a baby, they say). Some people even do a double take when I laugh. Like, they can't believe I just did that. And then they'd comment on how I should laugh more because it's the first time they heard it. Uh.. I have to disagree to that. I laugh and smile A LOT!

First thing that made me smile this morning was:

Me and My Bookshelf (21)

This is where I feature the books I received, bought, gifted or won that are newly added in my physical shelf, which means no e-books and the like, and recount epic book hauling stories. It is usually posted on Saturdays.

Hi! Last weekend I went to Cebu to attend Tahereh Mafi, Ransom Riggs and Veronica Rossi's book signing. I would like to congratulate myself since I did not buy any books aside from the three I have yet to buy to bring to the event - by which I am very thankful about since I already bought a lot on the first week of April. The day before the event I bought:
