From now on, Me and My Bookshelf will be featuring my monthly haul. I don't get that many books in a week, sometimes nothing, and sometimes I get a month's worth in one day. It all depends on when they arrive in the mail, when I have money, or when I have time to go to the bookstore. Like last month (May), I haven't bought anything. Um, wowza. I just realized last week when I was thinking of posting this meme and well, yeah, that's really good news especially with the book buying limit and all. It helped that I was always on the road most of the time that month so instead of buying more books to compensate I did.. nothing. I saved my money. This month I still bought not more than 5 books which is my max. Yey!

Yes. I made a TBR jar. This was inspired by Kat of Katytastic. You know her? She’s amazing! And I sincerely thank her for this wonderful idea which I wouldn’t have come up with on my own for sure. You should watch her latest video:



See? Told ya. But I digress. So last night as I was going over the list of the physical books I own, I saw that I still haven’t read a few – okay, a lot – of them (and counting), a few of which I bought years ago. Let’s not include my TBR e-books in this topic; it’ll take time.

It's supposed to be review day. I planned on writing my review of Reboot by Amy Tintera yesterday and then post it now but I got caught up doing A FEW school works which resulted to me sleeping at 3 in the morning and waking up late (7 freaking o'clock) with only 20 minutes left before my first class. And there I go again, doing my daily morning exercise which consists of running from our university's second gate to the farthest building on campus, up 4 flights of stairs and I'm fit! Anyway, it seems like I don't have much time to write a decent review so I opted for a short and easy post. Music and Lyrics!

I've mentioned in one of my previous post about a few of the training seminars I attended this summer and one of it required a 3-day stay away from civilization. Kidding. I only meant no internet and gadgets allowed except our facilitators and one of them has a really cool playlist. I also heard a few songs that were presented during talks, played for wake-up calls or during breaks that I thought was awesome so when I got home, they immediately went on repeat.

Yesterday, I told myself I will write three reviews to post or schedule the following day. But I didn't because I'm lazy and I'm tired. What I did was set my alarm really early so I can do it before I go to school for enrollment and a program I needed to attend. What really happened was that I woke with just enough time to get ready, have my breakfast and travel. I wasn't late by the way. So now here I am, I just got back home after spending 8 hours at school with no review or anything at all for that matter, the reason why I decided to do a Music and Lyrics post instead which I haven't done in a while anyway-- *knock, knock*

May Reads + Monthly Recap

If you've noticed, I kind of disappeared and it got pretty quiet here in my blog for more than a week. Between final exams and tons of activities at school, I got very little time for anything else. And I'm extremely sad to say this but in that span of time I was away from blogging, that's also how long I wasn't able to pick ANY books to read. You'd think now that summer classes were over, I'd be having the time of my life diving in books but as soon as school let out, club meetings here, trainings and seminars there, blah, blah, blah. I spent three days at our school's Eco Park out of town after exams for our school's Leadership Training Seminar and we were not allowed to bring any gadgets with us. I also did not bring any books which I wouldn't be able to read anyway since our activities end really late (our socials and last night ended at around 2AM) and I'm already exhausted by the time I hit our dorm room. I slept like a log when I finally got back home. I planned to catch up but last Friday I was once again out of town for our club's team building activity. I'm still pretty beat so I only did a quick post when I got back yesterday. Anyway, here's a quick recap of my monthly posts and reads.

Cover Reveal: The House of Hades by Rick Riordan

Unfortunately, I was out of town yesterday and I did not bring my laptop with me.
