Newly Released November Books (2)

The Faerie Guardian
(Creepy Hollow #1)
by Rachel Morgan
Published: November 5, 2012

Goodreads | Review

Protecting humans from dangerous magical creatures is all in a day’s work for a faerie training to be a guardian. Seventeen-year-old Violet Fairdale knows this better than anyone—she’s about to become the best guardian the Guild has seen in years. That is, until a cute human boy who can somehow see through her faerie glamour follows her into the fae realm. Now she’s broken Guild Law, a crime that could lead to her expulsion.

The last thing Vi wants to do is spend any more time with the boy who got her into this mess, but the Guild requires that she return Nate to his home and make him forget everything he’s discovered of the fae realm. Easy, right? Not when you factor in evil faeries, long-lost family members, and inconvenient feelings of the romantic kind. Vi is about to find herself tangled up in a dangerous plot—and it’ll take all her training to get out alive.

[This novel was originally published in four separate parts: Guardian,Labyrinth, Traitor and Masquerade. It includes bonus scenes at the end that were not published in the individual parts.]

Finally! It has a cover! And look at that; isn't it amazing? After that i'm-absolutely-having-a-fit cliffhanger ending, you'd totally get me when I say that I'm dying to read this book! Good thing I don't have to wait THAT long before it goes out.

From Page to Film: Twilight Saga

Twilight, I should say, fell into the books-I-liked-movie-not-so-much category. I loved the series and I admit I was obsessed with it then. It's hard not to be swept away by all that madness especially since a movie was coming out with very promising casts. Not that I'm saying I hate it now. It's just that Twilight isn't the only book I have ever read and there are so many I adore after it that it paled in comparison.

Random: Roses

School was back last week, which means I can't avoid having a tight schedule anymore. I have one class that starts at 7.30 in the morning and for the whole week, ends at 8.30PM. Talk about exhausting! Good thing I have a lot of breaks, well, not A LOT, a lot. Just enough to relax my mind and catch up with school works and of course, reading. But truthfully, first day back was a lot of fun eventhough it was very tiring. It's nice to see my friends again and I laughed the whole day with us ending at the mall eating pizza.

Anyway, these beauties are what captures my attention everytime I go out of our house. I can't help it to notice and smile seeing them. And they sure do lift my mood all the time. Feels good just staring at them.

Me and My Bookshelf (6)

This is where I feature the books I received, bought, gifted or won that are newly added in my physical shelf, which means no e-books and the like. It is usually posted on Saturdays.

It's been a while since I last posted for this meme. I haven't really bought any books over the break even if I badly want to. I spent an insane amount for an order so I might as well lie low for some time. Or else my mom is going to strangle me. All I have to do now is wait for each of them to arrive. For now, this is what I got in my mail.

Annabeth is terrified. Just when she's about to be reunited with Percy—after six months of being apart, thanks to Hera—it looks like Camp Jupiter is preparing for war. As Annabeth and her friends Jason, Piper, and Leo fly in on the Argo II, she can’t blame the Roman demigods for thinking the ship is a Greek weapon. With its steaming bronze dragon masthead, Leo's fantastical creation doesn't appear friendly. Annabeth hopes that the sight of their praetor Jason on deck will reassure the Romans that the visitors from Camp Half-Blood are coming in peace.

And that's only one of her worries. In her pocket Annabeth carries a gift from her mother that came with an unnerving demand: Follow the Mark of Athena. Avenge me. Annabeth already feels weighed down by the prophecy that will send seven demigods on a quest to find—and close—the Doors of Death. What more does Athena want from her?

Annabeth's biggest fear, though, is that Percy might have changed. What if he's now attached to Roman ways? Does he still need his old friends? As the daughter of the goddess of war and wisdom, Annabeth knows she was born to be a leader, but never again does she want to be without Seaweed Brain by her side.

Narrated by four different demigods, The Mark of Athena is an unforgettable journey across land and sea to Rome, where important discoveries, surprising sacrifices, and unspeakable horrors await. Climb aboard the Argo II, if you dare....

Deity (Covenant #3)
by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Published: November 6, 2012

"History is on repeat, and things didn't go so well the last time. "

Alexandria isn't sure she's going to make it to her eighteenth birthday--to her Awakening. A long-forgotten, fanatical order is out to kill her, and if the Council ever discovers what she did in the Catskills, she's a goner... and so is Aiden.

If that's not freaky enough, whenever Alex and Seth spend time "training"--which really is just Seth's code word for some up-close and personal one-on-one time--she ends up with another mark of the Apollyon, which brings her one step closer to Awakening ahead of schedule. Awesome.

But as her birthday draws near, her entire world shatters with a startling revelation and she's caught between love and Fate. One will do anything to protect her. One has been lying to her since the beginning. Once the gods have revealed themselves, unleashing their wrath, lives will be irrevocably changed... and destroyed.

Those left standing will discover if love is truly greater than Fate...

She won’t rest until she’s sent every walking corpse back to its grave. Forever.

Had anyone told Alice Bell that her entire life would change course between one heartbeat and the next, she would have laughed. From blissful to tragic, innocent to ruined? Please. But that’s all it took. One heartbeat. A blink, a breath, a second, and everything she knew and loved was gone. Her father was right. The monsters are real….To avenge her family, Ali must learn to fight the undead. To survive, she must learn to trust the baddest of the bad boys, Cole Holland. But Cole has secrets of his own, and if Ali isn’t careful, those secrets might just prove to be more dangerous than the zombies….

I wish I could go back and do a thousand things differently. I'd tell my sister no. I'd never beg my mother to talk to my dad. I'd zip my lips and swallow those hateful words. Or, barring all of that, I'd hug my sister, my mom and my dad one last time. I'd tell them I love them. I wish... Yeah, I wish

October Reads

Wow. Is it really November already? How's your Halloween, by the way? Sigh. Another has passed and we're two months away before the year (hopefully not the world! lol!) ends. Since October was half-finals-half-sembreak for me, I managed to finish 10 for which I'm glad even if I'm still 17(!) books behind my GR reading challenge.

And now that school will be starting again next week... I'm still reading, of course. No one can stop me! Just not too much. Anyway, here's what I read this month.
