BOOK DEPOSITORY ORDERS

Hello everyone! I can't help but notice that there are plenty of readers who are interested in buying books online especially those that are here in the Philippines so I am going to make an offer.

I'm sure most of you are familiar with the Book Depository. It is, as far as I know, the only online book store that ships for free internationally including the Philippines. To those of you here in the Philippines who wants to buy books from them but doesn't have an applicable method of payment or just doesn't know how to, I am willing to do that for you. No additional fees. Book prices will be the same as what is posted on their site (converted to PHP).

Just to make a few things clear:

Orders will be directly shipped to your address (if you prefer) so you don't have to pay additional fee for local shipping.

There are some packages that requires a fee in order to claim them in the post office. This rarely happens in a Book Depository package but if it does, I am not responsible. Please take note that books are tax-free and VAT-exempt. There shouldn't be any additional charges (except for the occasional storage or handling fee) when you get your books as long as it is for personal and not commercial use. Read more about this HERE.

Book Depository orders usually takes a month or two to arrive here. Sometimes less than a month, sometimes more. Regardless, I am not responsible for the shipping and lost or damaged packages. But I will help you report it to the site when that happens.

If you are younger that 18, please make sure people in your household knows you are expecting a package. No reason to make them suspicious of stuff suddenly coming in your mail from someone they don't know.

Lastly, this is not a scam. Just want to put that out there :) I am genuinely willing to help you.

If you have any other concerns, questions or you are willing to try this out, feel free to leave a comment here or send me a message on Facebook to discuss it further. I don't bite!

P.S. I receive a tiny commission for every book purchased in TBD if you my affiliate link which I put everywhere here on my blog but it does not change the price of items you buy so don't you worry.

    1. Hi! If you're using Paypal just go to your account, then click the Add/Edit Address which you will find on the Profile drop-down tab, and then click Add Address. Let me know if it works!

  4. Hello! Thank you for sharing this. I had my first transaction with them earlier today. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I'm really concerned though because I have been reading quite a handful of blogposts regarding the local door-to-door delivery and in some cases, they were charged a 50-peso fee for who-knows-what by the delivery man (maybe additional delivery local delivery charges as I know books should be tax-free?). But when these people placed their work addresses, they were never charged. What should I expect when the books arrive? I'm not always at home and I fear that the delivery personnel might take advantage of my kasmabahay and ask for more fees than necessary as she is from the province and has quite a thick accent. Do you have suggestions?

    1. I use my mom's office address because there is no one in our house to receive my mail. Not all packages from BookDepo have a fee. Those that were delivered directly to my mom don't but sometimes instead of receiving the package I get a notice from the post office about my package and that I have a fee to pay for. It's P100 now in my local post office :(

  5. I'm not really sure. Almost all of my orders kasi diretso sa mailing address ko. Most likely, and based sa mga sinabi nang iba sakin about sa orders nila, is hindi alam or hindi ma locate nung mail man yung address nyo.

  6. Have you tried buying a book set from TBD? If you did, did the mailman or PO charged you with additional payments?

    1. No, I haven't. But whether it's a book set or not, there shouldn't be any additional payments especially to a mailman. Books are supposed to be tax free as far as I know unless you, like, bought more than 6 copies of one book or something like that. The only fee you could be paying is the holding fee for when a package had to be stored in the post office for some reason and payment should be in the PO.

  7. Hi Haraiah! I would very much glad to take your offer. Actually, I have been researching about Book Depository and wanting to buy there but payment methods hinder me from doing such. How can I be sure that you'll be placing my orders? :) Thank you and have a good day!

  8. Hi! Pwede bang i-check sa local PO kung nasa kanila yung package? Usually kasi mga 2months bago ko mareceive ung package. Pero ngayon di pa din dumadating. Gusto ko na sanang iverify sa PO. :(

  9. Hello po! It's been a month and 3 weeks already, but I still haven't received my packages and the local post office has not sent me a notice, so I contacted Book Depository. They told me to check the local post office, so I went there but they're asking me for a tracking number. Pero sabi po ni BD na wala raw silang tracking number for they're free standard shipping. Has this ever happened to you po? :(

    1. One time lang nangyari sakin na ma receive yung Book Depo package mga 2 months later na. Have you checked the Book Depository tracking? May binibigay silang tracking number after the order is confirmed. Unfortunately, no good yan pag na pasa na ang mail sa courier that would deliver the package dito satin that's why hindi na sya applicable sa post office. Try mo ang ulit i check after some time. Baka na delay because of the holidays and bad weather. Pag hindi pa rin, then tell BD about the issue so they can check on it futher.

  10. I ordered 3 items(deck of cards) via book depository last Nov. 22, 2016. 2 were dispatched on the 24th, and the other one on the 25th. To my surprise, the first 2 already arrived yesterday. Hopefully the last one will arrive today. That's like 9 business days. 2 weeks.

  11. Hi! You said (and sabi na rin ng iba) that there are instances wherein the order has to be picked up directly in the post office. Pano po ba malalaman kung ganito? Will they send me an email or??

    1. May pinapadala po silang notice printed in a piece of paper.

  12. Hi! I just wanted to know po kung pano malalaman if kailangan kong pumunta sa post office directly para iclaim. I just had my first order and it's been more than three weeks now. Will they send me an email to let me know that I'll have to claim it at the post office or I'll just go check by myself?

  13. May notice po na pinapadala ang post office. Meron din naman kasing instances na umaabot nang 2 months bago dumating ang package. Pwede nyo din po puntahan sa post office at mag inquire directly dun para po makasiguro :)
