If you've read the first book, Pivot Point, you'd be crazy not to pick this up. It didn't matter that it's only a duology and Split Second will be the last we see of Addie and Trevor. I did not hesitate to read it as soon as I got my copy.

Pivot Point was written in alternating perspectives but they were all in Addie's point of view. I don't mind that much when a sequel introduces an additional point of view from a different character when the previous book/s only has that of the main character or was written in third person. But it made me wary when I learned that it would be Addie and Lila's in Split Second since Lila wan't that great of a friend in Pivot Point, despite the circumstances. As it turned out, it was an amazing addition to the book. I really enjoyed Lila's parts and seeing the situation in her perspective as well as getting to know her better. Most importantly, we have another pair to ship for!

Addie in Split Second kicks ass. She's still that cool and quiet girl I loved in Pivot Point but somehow fiercer. Just look at that face on the cover. Not to mention the fact that she can now manipulate time. I really loved the way her "complicated relationship" with Trevor was wrapped up. It made me cry because, well, it hurts knowing about this parallel life you've experienced with the guy you love. Only that guy doesn't know it exist because you chose a different path. And there goes Trevor being sweet and amazing about the whole situation - excuse me while I swoon. A lot of things in this books made me cry actually, including the part with Duke, even if he was a jerk.

Split Second is a great ending. You wouldn't be disappointed and you really can't compare if it is better than Pivot Point because in a way, it tells a different story. I think that's what I loved most about these two books together. Pivot Point did not introduce us into this paranormal world with very complicated conflicts that it would leave you with a lot of questions at the end of the series especially if it is only a two-book series. Overall, amazing! I am looking forward to reading Kasie West's other books.
