Mature and explicit content. Not recommended for readers below 18-years-old. Yup, you've got to be that old to read my story. Consider yourself warned.

I’m Dakota Collins, a tough talking, eye patch wearing, workaholic photography student. Why am I important? Well, maybe because I get to spend an entire month with Vicious, only the sickest indie rock band out there.

You see, I needed a subject for my Spring Showcase introspective in order to graduate. During a chance encounter at a club I’d been sent to cover for the Daily Gossip, our ironically named college paper, the features writer I usually teamed up with introduced me to the band—by accident, I might add. It involved a run in with a scary, bald bodyguard. Anyway, long story short, I signed a contract to take pictures of Vicious.

I should have known their handsome yet way too serious for his own good bassist, Luka Visraya, wouldn't be able to keep his hands to himself. He’s gorgeous and all, but the way he smiles spelled trouble with a capital L. I’m in for a long month with him around.

Crazy shit happens and then some. So, if you want the skinny on Vicious and the events revolving around my stay at Lunar Manor, read my story.

Again, refer to the warning above.

I shouldn't be surprised. I liked this book more than I thought I would. Just like Taste. It made me laugh boisterously in the most unexpected parts and grin manically in, well, most parts. It's the type of feeling that makes you revel in it which is why I thoroughly enjoyed my time reading Savor.

Oh, and hot damn, Luka Visraya..

He refilled my empty mug with the rich, hot beverage. “Take a seat. I don’t bite.” He paused then leveled his playful gaze my way. “Hard.”

Shit. Just, shit.

I can't pinpoint why Luka makes me melt like I do now when I've met countless guys who can act like he does but do I look like I care? No. Learn to enjoy the moment - a mantra everyone should remember when faced with fictional hotness. I don't remember much about Taste but I do remember Luka as my favorite character so excuse me a moment while I roll on the floor when I heard about an upcoming NA novel with him as the male lead.

If you haven't read Taste, which is basically the high school days of Vicious, the line "what the hell is going on" would constantly flicker on the background but if you have.. come to think of it, it would still be there. You'd certainly wonder what the deal is with the whole band and their weird ways but if you've already gotten that out of the way.. there's the thing about Dakota and her past which I can't, for the life of me, figure out. It's a total mystery and I've been dying to know everything since page 1. I get this nagging feeling inside of me that there's something I should know about and that I can find it in Taste. I can't be sure but in one way or another, I still need a reread.

What I love most in this book is eventhough it can be slow with regards to what I would think are major revelations, the photography aspect is wicked cool. Everytime Dakota has this new idea for a photo shoot it gets me excited as well. I find them very interesting and I'm always looking forward to whatever she may come up with to perfectly describe each member of Vicious. Dakota's dedication to her work is admirable and it adds character to her photos.

Luka: “I’ll be right outside if you need me. Call if you get dizzy.”
Dakota: “You’ll probably just hear a very loud thump.”

Dakota, FTW! LOL.
Bottom line? I need the next book now. Nownownow! I got a one chapter teaser of Relish but it's not enough. If any, it made me want it much sooner but what can I do? In the meantime, here I am convincing y'all to pick this book up. And also Taste while you're at it.

About the author:
When Kate Evangelista was told she had a knack for writing stories, she did the next best thing: entered medical school. After realizing she wasn't going to be the next Doogie Howser, M.D., Kate wandered into the Literature department of her university and never looked back. Today, she is in possession of a piece of paper that says to the world she owns a Literature degree. To make matters worse, she took Master's courses in creative writing. In the end, she realized to be a writer, none of what she had mattered. What really mattered? Writing. Plain and simple, honest to God, sitting in front of her computer, writing. Today, she lives in the Philippines and writes full time.
