[BLOG TOUR] Review + Giveaway: The Faerie War by Rachel Morgan

The Faerie War
(Creepy Hollow #3)

The fate of the fae world is in her hands ...

Violet Fairdale is in big trouble. Her home is gone, her beloved forest lies in ruins, the guy she gave her heart to has deserted her—and she doesn’t remember any of it. The powerful Lord Draven is taking over, brainwashing guardians into fighting for him. No one is safe from the evil spreading throughout the fae world.

As alliances are forged between the remaining free fae, Vi struggles to reclaim her identity and figure out where she belongs in this new world. When someone from her past shows up, life gets even more complicated. He brings with him a long-forgotten weapon and an ancient prophecy that places Vi at the center of the fight against Draven. With the future of the fae world at stake, can Vi carry out the prophecy’s instructions before it’s too late?

This is it. This is really is it. The final book in the Creepy Hollow series by none other than Rachel Morgan. I don't know what to say. No, actually, I have A LOT to say only that I'm not sure where to start. So this review will probably be all over the place with a little fangirl here and there but, hey, my favorite series just ended. Give me some credit for being 30% coherent right now.

If there is one particular series I am ever thankful for discovering on my own, it's this. I remember stumbling upon the first part of The Faerie Guardian more than a year ago. It was only a novella then. One that I badly wished to be more than one book after having a taste of it (you'd know why if you read THIS) and was then followed, much to my excitement, by The Faerie Prince which I read more than once in one weekend (see THIS). And now, here I am, three books later and hoping for another.

As much as I would have loved to extend my eventual goodbye, the second book's ending didn't really gave me much choice in the matter when I had the sequel right beside me screaming "PICK ME NOW" almost one month before the release day. Have you met Violet? Ryn? Or Filigree? You wouldn't get enough of them. I swear! They are the characters you'd love to death once you get to know them. Not only will readers admire that wonderful bond but they will also tug your heart when it comes to the heartbreaking moments in this book. Their friendship would surpass any other relationship although the romance will also melt you, believe me. But that's what I love most about this book; it goes way deeper into you than you'd have thought and before you know it, they've already become a part of you. Add the adventure, the action, the magic, and the overall story of loss and forgiveness.

Okay, now I'm getting teary-eyed. Especially remembering all the Filigree and Violet moments. I don't know if there will ever be a more touching scene than a pet who comforts you when you're so down and heartbroken. And Ryn! Ohmygod.. let's just say I love him. Damn, Vi surely knows how to break a guy's heart.

Man, this book is just so good. It was an excellent ending to the series. I loved the way it resolved all the conflicts and I salute Rachel Morgan for making this gem of a book. All praise goes to the genius behind this and I'd say, Ms. Morgan, that Arthur was a pleasant surprise, if you know what I mean. LOL. Now for you dear readers who haven't started this series yet.. *looks at everyone weirdly*

YOU REALLY DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS HOTNESS, DO YOU?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Okay, I'm calm.
Ryn
RYN
RYN! ;)

“Wait,” Ryn says, holding a hand up and watching me closely with a dazzling smile. “Feel that again.”

You don't know what I'm talking about, huh? You're missing out. BIG TIME.

Author Bio

Rachel Morgan was born in South Africa and spent a large portion of her childhood living in a fantasy land of her own making. After completing a degree in genetics, she decided science wasn’t for her—after all, they didn’t approve of made-up facts. These days she spends much of her time immersed in fantasy land once more, writing fiction for young adults.

When she isn't writing, she's reading (duh!), catching up on addictive TV series, and baking things that almost always include chocolate.
